Important Information Regarding the Volunteer Application

The Fair Grove Board of Education implemented an application process that requires volunteers that are going to be alone with students to complete a volunteer background check application each school year to help ensure the safety and security of our students.
This approval process DOES NOT apply to home room activities such as holiday parties or other activities where a teacher or other faculty/staff supervisor is present. ONLY when the volunteer will be alone with students. If you have specific questions on this please speak with your building principal for clarification.
The VOLUNTEER APPLICATION FORM is located on the school website under the "PARENTS" menu. It is the responsibility of the volunteer to complete the form and present it along with the reports to the school district for approval. It is the faculty and staff’s responsibility to notify a volunteer in plenty of time that they will need to complete this form. A faculty member will advise a volunteer if this application is necessary for their specific volunteer duties, otherwise it can be assumed that faculty supervision will be present and therefore this application process will not be necessary.
There is a fee for this application process and it will need to be completed by the volunteer well in advance of the event (allow approximately 2 weeks processing time). The volunteer can elect to be reimbursed by the school for their application fee after they have completed their volunteer service.
