Fair Grove Driver Education Information

Student must have reached their 15th birthday to take this class.

Classroom will begin Monday, June 15 and end on Thursday, June 19.  Start time is 7:45 am and end time is 11:00 am.  These are the only days we will all meet together since the rest of the time we will be driving.

Bring pencil and paper with you to class each day and be prepared to take notes over material necessary to pass your written test.

If you have your permit bring it to class every day.  You MUST have your permit with you to drive.

If you do not have a permit, bring $1.00 with you the first day to purchase a

learners permit which I will keep with me.  It is only valid when you are driving with me.

You will need to  talk with parents/other drivers about the 4 weeks of driver education.  You need to know your summer schedule (summer school classes, Camps, vacation, work, etc.) and your parents’ plans for that time period so we can schedule your driving times.  If you are wanting to drive with specific people in your group, you will need to make sure to know their schedules also.

On Monday, June 15 we will begin working on the driving schedule. We may  begin driving  as early as  Monday, June 15 at 1:00 pm.

I will put students in groups of 3, possibly 2 depending on how numbers or schedules work out.

First group starts at        7:00 am. -10:00 am

Second group starts at 10:00 am. - 1:00 pm

Third group starts at      1:00 pm. - 4:00 pm

Drives will start within 5 minutes of starting time.  No need to arrive earlier than 10 minutes before your drive starts.

We will not wait for you so be ON TIME.

DRIVING TIMES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE.

1st drive will be very basic skills in FG.

2nd drive will be rural highways with speed limit at 55.

3rd drives will be multilane, divided highways with speed up to 70.

4th, 5th and possibly 6th drives will be in Springfield,;  working lane changes, dual and single lane left turns, right turn yields, diverging diamond interchanges, etc..

4,5 and 6 drives are the most important because they will represent the type of driving you will be doing on your driving test.
